The chairs of the Safe Anaesthesia Liaison Group (SALG) wrote to clinical directors via the Clinical Leaders in Anaesthesia Network, managed by the Royal College of Anaesthetists in October, 2024 to ask them to encourage their hospitals to pivot from purchasing suxamethonium chloride in ampoules towards ready to administer (pre-filled) syringes. This letter explained the rationale behind the recommendation, and suggested contacting local pharmacy colleagues to help establish a supply. A template letter was included, which is downloadable below, along with a copy of the original letter.
